8|7 Central
Hello friends! Today I thought I'd do a shout out to the boys at 8/7 central. They are an all-around cool graphic, web, and overall design shop (as well as kicking silkscreen prints + shirts)… They are helping me out with my website and have been fantastic to work with…after you see some of their work, you'll see why!

Ladies of Letterpress Part 2

I had a great time at the first-ever ladies of letterpress conference (Asheville, NC). It was so cool to meet so many lady printers! We talked a lot of shop: pricing, paper vendors (samples galore), tradeshows, type, you name it—we discussed it. Some of the presses I met were:

http://iglooletterpress.com
http://www.birddogpress.com

The highlight was getting to meet Judith Berliner. She runs Full Circle Press in Neveda City, CA

Here are a few shots from the weekend, I didn't bring my "good" camera and I kept forgetting to take shots I was so busy by talking and looking at everyone's work! I stayed at a great Bed + Breakfast called Abbington Green (an English theme, you can tell by her lovely garden photo).
I met I'm already anticipating next year.

More Cuckoo Craziness!

I haven't gotten around to downloading the photos from this past weekend's ladies of letterpress conference, but I will. In the meantime I thought I'd show you another variation on the cuckoo series I've been doing. Also I thought I'd pose the question about watches and clocks. Since most of us have mobile phones (okay…everyone I know!) do you use a watch or clock or just your phone to tell time?

Headed East!

Happy Thursday to you! Today I have some printing to do, more photos about that next week. This weekend however I'll be heading East to The Ladies of Letterpress conference. It should be good…meeting up with an old grad school friend who runs this crazy gathering of people and of course meeting all kinds of other letterpress printers. It is in Asheville, North Carolina so I'm excited to be exploring a new city via car and running shoes. I'll be staying at the Abbington Green Bed and Breakfast so hopefully I'll post some lovely pics to share of the B&B. I have some work up in the exhibition and can't wait to see what else will be represented. Until then, a woman's place is definitely in the Print Shop…

The Fiat 500 (aka Cinquecento)

I found this story yesterday on the Fiat 500 2012 on nypost.com's Page Six (if you don't go to Page Six, I highly recommend it if you want to keep updated on all things pop culture):
"Four Seasons co-owner Julian Niccolini is using the restaurant's lobby as a parking spot for his new Fiat 500 (a k a the Cinquecento), the miniature hatchback that recently became available in the US. The white convertible is small enough to fit through the front doors of the power-lunch eatery and Niccolini drives it out the front door to toodle around town. The car was a gift from Fiat chairman John Elkann, and apparently it's a chick magnet. "It drives the ladies crazy," remarked the madcap Niccolini."
